Kilpatrick Design, Inc. is seeking a senior designer to join our creative team in Winston-Salem, NC. This person will work closely with the art director, technical director, and clients to create beautiful and refined brands, websites, and printed collateral. The individual will be a strategic thinker and able to articulate strategies and solutions to the team and to clients.

Applicants must be expert designers at print and web, and have experience seeing projects through from pitch to launch.

Web

No coding knowledge is needed to apply. We are looking for a visual and user experience design expert, not a jack-of-all-trades.

The person who will fill this position will work with clients to understand their needs and desires, develop a strategy in collaboration with the technical and creative directors, and execute the design solutions. He or she will develop information architecture documents (site maps, wireframes), produce strategic, beautiful, and original concepts; and follow through with every detail as the project unfolds.

Print

While most of our business is web, print has certainly not gone away. We apply the same attention to detail on each print piece as we do on our web projects. Applicants must have experience not only creating innovative design concepts for printed media, but also build clean, print-ready files. This position requires solid understanding of printing processes and effective managing of printer relationships.

Requirements, Submissions, Compensation

  • Only apply if you are positive, productive, highly personable, and have a great sense of humor.
  • No coding knowledge necessary. Our creatives create designs for websites in Illustrator. The developers take it from there.
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a designer in an agency environment.
  • Experience art directing photographers, illustrators, and other designers is a plus.
  • Minimum of BFA or BA in design, or BGD degree required.
  • Mastery of current Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop required.
  • Awareness and knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Fully embracing/participating in social media personally is not required, but understanding and being able to articulate the potential of social media to clients is. Basic understanding of major social media platforms is required.
  • Candidate must be available to work and meet in-person as needed in Winston-Salem. There is the potential for some virtual work as well.
